My career with the IRS began at the Cincinnati Service Center as a seasonal employee in January 1968. I continued at the IRS Cincinnati Service Center as a tax examiner until August 1973. In August 1973 I was selected as GS-5 Taxpayer Service Representative in the Cincinnati District. In August 1974 I was selected as a GS-5 Tax Auditor in office audit.

My next position as a GS-9 Revenue Agent started in August 1977 and continued until November 1987, advancing from GS-9 to GS-13. As a revenue agent I worked in the general program area, as a financial products specialist (formerly know as commodity tax shelter specialist), as manager of a correspondence audit group and as Cincinnati District Tax Shelter Coordinator.

In November 1987, I was selected as an Appeals Officer and continue to hold that position as a GS-14 Appeals Officer. I am a licensed certified public accountant.

I have served as an NTEU steward since 1973 and as an Officer of NTEU Chapter 9 since 1980.
