August 17, 2006: Response to Cato Institute-Sample Letters to the Editor — The Cato Institute, a conservative DC-based organization, is advancing the position that federal workers are paid significantly more than private sector workers and have better benefits. The author of this flawed study is contending that federal benefits should be cut and employee pay frozen. NTEU is working to combat these outrageous statements through op-ed articles and letters to the editor. |

August 4, 2006: 2007 Federal Pay Parity — Congress left for its August recess with unfinished bills providing different pay raises for civil servants and military personnel. Both groups need a 2.7 percent increase. |

July 21, 2006: Pay and Contracting Out Action — The Senate Appropriations Committee yesterday passed its version of H.R. 5576, the FY '07 Transportation, Treasury, HUD Appropriations bill. The bill includes a 2.7% raise and continues contracting out provisions won last year. |
