Another Reorganization
The following attached article was in today's "In The News" on the Intranet:
[“ICF International is on Team Awarded
U.S. Internal Revenue Service Subcontract”]
After reading it and digesting what it said, it sounds like we're in for another Booz-Allen type consulting job. As everyone will remember, BA were the ones that came up with the current organization structure. As we all know, that has now turned into the 10 little fiefdoms. Furthermore, nobody trusts, cooperates or talks to anyone from the other fiefdoms. Now we are wasting more money to work on the communication between the fiefdoms. They've got to be kidding. It just goes to show that if management can screw something that already doesn't work, they are more than happy to do it. Of course, what this also means is that someone(s) will be assigned to overlook this project. Which will provide a means to justify the upper management grade for those involved. If they really want to learn about communication, cooperation, and trust between the fiefdoms, just hire the employees they already have. We, as the servants, have had a network that has been able to survive all the reorgs that upper management could muster. We still get things done in spite of all their proposed changes. For what they are going to spend on this worthless consulting contract, those of us in the Service could probably get a nice raise, cheaper medical insurance, or at least a couple pens and pencils.
This is my editorial comment for the day.
